The Alamodome is located in the city of San Antonio, South Central Texas, on the San Antonio River. This multi-purpose stadium is mostly used for football and basketball. The stadium was inaugurated on May 15, 1993 at a cost of $186 million. The ground holds up to 65,000 for a football game, but can be expanded to 72,000 to host a Super Bowl, and up to 75,000 for a center stage. The Almodome has two permenant Oylympic size ice rinks, that can be used for NHL Hockey, Speed Skating and figure skating. The stadium is the home of Alamo Bowl (NCCA) and former home of the San Antonio Texans (CFL). It was home to 4 New Orleans Saints games in 2005 after Hurricane Katrina caused damage to the Superdome. Was also the home court for the San Antonio Spurs of the NBA from 1992-2002.
