Stadion Crvena Zvezda (also known as Red Star Stadium) is located in the city of Belgrade.This multi-purpose stadium was opened on September 1, 1963, it was built on the site of the original stadium, which was built in 1927.After the new stadium was built the new capacity became 54,000.The stadium is the home of soccer club Red Star Belgrade.The highest official recorded attendance at the stadium is 96,070, in a Cup Winners Cup semi-final home leg against Hungarian team Ferencvaros.However it is believed the stadium was full to it's maximum allowable capacity, which at that time was 110,000.The stadium is nicknamed "The Marakana" by the clubs fans, in honour of the famous Brazilian stadium.
