Description:
The City of Manchester Stadium was originally built for the 2002 Commonwealth games finals which were held in Manchester, it has however been renovated to accomodate Manchester City, the capacity was extended to 48,000, the running track removed and the playing surface lowered as well as adding roofing all around the stadium. The City of Manchester Stadium is now regarded as one of the premier grounds in the United Kingdom and offers facilities that can only be rivaled by the new Wembely Stadium that will be completed in 2006.
