The Arena Essex stadium is the home venue of speedway team Arena Essex.The racetrack is located in Thurrock a unitary authority area within Essex, north of the River Thames.The racetrack is 252 metres in length and meetings are held on either Wednesday or Saturday nights, at 7.45pm.The nickname of the Arena Essex team is "The Hammers", named after the West Ham United Football Club.
