The Estadio Placido Aderaldo Castelo is in the city of Fortaleza, capital of Ceara state, North Eastern Brazil a port on the Atlantic Ocean.The stadium is the home ground of two Serie Football teams Ceara Sporting Club and Fottaleza Esporte Club.The Estadio Placido Aderaldo Castelao was inaugurated on November 11, 1973, when two Brazilian football teams Ceara and Fortaleza drew 0-0.The first goal scored in the stadium was on November 18, 1973 by Ceara's Erandy, when Ceara beat Vitoria 1-0.The stadium is owned by the Ceara state Goverment, and they started to reform the ground in May 2001.The stadium was completly refurbished and on March 23, 2002, it reopened with a reinaugural match when Brazil national team beat Yugoslavia national team 1-0.The stadium has a maximum capacity of 60,000 pepole, but the record attendance currently stands at 118,496, set on August 27, 1980, when the Brazil national team beat Uruguay national team 1-0.
